Fundamentals of Robotics

Competitions:

Robot Dance I

Students will program their robot to dance to the song of their choice.  They will be judged based on their usage of space, style and synchronicity.

Geometric Circuit I

Students will precisely control their robots with the programs that they write. With these programs, they will make their robots run a race through a course costructed using a variety of brightly colored geometric shapes.  The Geometric Circuit is a time-based competition where penalties will be added to the robots that bump and crash, while bonuses will be given to those who run precisely to certain spots on the course.

Relay Speedway

Students will control their robots through keyboard input to race through a course. However, they will be passing the control keyboard to their teammates when the robots reach certain points in the race.  This is a test of their familiarity with the robot as well as their teamwork ability.  Again, bumps and crashes will bring penalties to their final scores.
